WHEN YOU CAN’T HEAR, FEEL
Tile
Hearing impairment is socially overlooked and misunderstood. The standard for finding a lost hearing aid is through a tiny beep which requires a keen sense of hearing…
In a society that is environmentally and technologically catered to the hearing, those who are Hard of Hearing feel lost. Thankfully, TILE are the experts at finding lost things.
…Because Deaf people lose stuff too
Most technology isn’t built with hearing accessibility in mind, so TILE will release the first tracking technology designed specifically for the Hard of Hearing.
The TacTILE pendant will allow the hearing impaired to find their lost things through vibrations and visual cues as opposed to audio cues.
With a tasteful and discrete design, it can be worn fashionably like a necklace or concealed under a shirt.
Deaf-Inclusive Advertising
We will use lip reading - a skill unique to the Hard of Hearing - to introduce our product especially and directly to them.
These DOOH ads will run silently and be strategically placed in areas that are not — such as subways, sports bars, and outside of construction sites.
Those who can hear might not get the message right away… but those who are Hard of Hearing will.
Feeling focused
Since sounds are heard by the hearing, but are felt by those who can’t, we will use Chlandi figures to visually weave the idea of sound throughout our campaign.
These patterns naturally occur in response to specific vibrations and appear in nature and architecture acting as a universally recognizable concept.
Tactile festival
Music is a universal language that even those who are deaf - feel.
TILE will make sure everyone feels found through their TACTILE fest - a music and arts festival catered entirely to the Hard of Hearing.
From vendors selling amenities specifically designed for the hearing impaired, to performers and artists who share the same disability - those who are lost in a loud society will feel found at TACTILE Fest.
Instead of having sign language interpreters crammed in the front right of the performance, the interpreters will be the performance at TACTILE Fest.
With projections of sign language interpreters alongside a live laser show of Chlandi patterns synchronized with the music, every sound will be represented in its entirety.
To emphasize the feeling of the music, all seating in the festival will be inflatable allowing patrons to feel every note flowing through their body.
Upon entering the festival, goers will be offered the opportunity to win a free TILE and TacTILE through a scavenger hunt.
This allows those with hearing impairment to experience the benefits of the TACTILE first hand while enjoying their time at the festival.
